Rear Fog Light

After smashing my rear fog, like everyone else at Devils Pit, I was thinking of fitting one of the high level brake lights with high intensity LED's, in the gap between the the bumper and the towbar. It would look really cool and bash proof. The shop says they are not designed to stay on for long periods and will probably burn out. I was thinking about dropping the volts to say 10 or 11V. They also said that they weren't sure if it would be legal. Any ideas?

Just stick mine on with velcro now, when going off road it comes off and gets tucked up inside the bumper.

Lucky's fogs fitted in the rear bumper still seems like the best idea around.

I think legally the rear fog light has to be on the drivers side. I only fit mine for the mot, then remove it again, as I too think they look naff under the bumper, and have broken them off. I've been doing this for 5 years now with 2 different vehicles and have not been pulled.

Stuck mine on with Velcro too. Rip off and wrap the wire around the chassis for off-roading (or just rips off but doesn't smash if I forget!!). MOT guy didn't mind this arrangment either

I've turned my drivers side reverse lamp into a foglamp - pic available if required....

All seems okay - just waiting for some fog now !

I'd like a pic pls - was it easy, any probs? I'm thinking of having mine done as I'm sick of having it reattached to the bumper everytime I knock it off!!

A picture with lamp off.... and one with it switched on.


Bear in mind the camera does it no justice and enhances the whiteness of the lense. The Light emitted is very red !

As for doing it, it's quite simply a case of chopping the original reverse lamp wires and replacing them at the back of the lamp cluster with the foglamp feeds.
