    Ian, they are new batteries mate, but after I fitted them and the starter motor was still 'iffy' I parked up for 3 weeks and when I went to start it the batteries were very weak.

    It's my own fault really, as no doubt the batteries weren't fully charged when I bought them and I should have either ran the Surf longer or charged them up before laying her up for 3 weeks.

    Thing is, since I charged the new batteries up the starter isn't clicking any more, I may have bought the starter recon pack a bit prematurely, then again it came and went before. Still going to recon the starter though, better safe than sorry!

      I'm getting a similar prob mate, new batterys and they go flat if i dont use the truck for a week, putting it down to an earth leak somewhere, at the moment it's easier to give em a boost than try and find the offending "wire", dont seem to have a prob with the starter tho, no clicking or buggering about, it's down to one of my add on's i reccon,
      as you say do the starter then al least you know thats alright,
      Too young to die and too old to give a toss
