Hi mate, there was a thread a while ago on gps, and I seem to remember the outcome was that the Jap gps won't work here. Cant remember any more detail, maybe somebody else will, or try a search, (top middle of main forum screen)Originally posted by westieIs there any one that knows how to get the jap gps systems formated in english and were you can obtain a maping disc for the UK, model 76000

I have been trying for some time now to get my jap gps to work, and with little sucess.
The standard in japan is "naviken", so if you do speak to anyone, you will probably need to ask for naviken compliant software / maps.
What you might find, as I have is that although its all in japanese, the gps will still give you your co-ordinate readings, which is of some use......
You might however find that like mine, I "think" its aligned true north and not magnetic north, hence when I reference a map I am always a set amount out, but when you know how far out you are you can work that.
I struggle by using mine with just the co-ordinates bit, but if you do find any maps / software let me know! I have called nearmost everyone.
Best bet might be just to give up and not waste the time on trying.
Mines a panasonic and they were about as much help as a chocolate fireguard, but if yours a different make, its probably worth giving them a call.
Cheers
