  • Headlight problem(full beam)

Hi all just after some advice on a problem, when i put on full beam either pushing or pulling the stalk my headlights go off, not the best situation however it only starts to happen after i have been driving eg everything was working fine when i start truck up, from a quick trall on here i think it may be either the relay or the contacts on the stalk, my query is where and how do i get to these and does anyone have any other suggestions of what it could be thanks.

Not sure offhand, it does sound like dirty contacts, why they would fail after a while each time i dont know. Someone else with a knowledge of electrics will be along later im sure.

It seems to been mentioned on Yotatec about the switch contacts failing . Not sure how to repair them though, sorry. But they can be 'overhauled' according to that site.

had this problem on my 1st, 1st gen. take the stalk off and clean the contacts up with a small nail file. put back together and it will be fixed. can be fiddly but not difficult. as for the burning smell, probably a build up of fluff/dirt/dust in there. mine looked like it was growing fur when i took it apart.
i swear, it was like that when i got here...
