  • LCD on Radio

Any clues as to why the LCD on my radio is not backlit? I presume it was backlit? Thanks.

There is usually a rather small bulb to back light the display, like all bulbs this can die.
I'm afraid the only fix is to completely dismantle the unit and replace it or buy a new one .
It may also just be a lose connection, i.e. just needs to be re-soldered.
    Good luck!

Quite difficult to be certain really. Some additional information about the stereo may help.

However, my old Sony flip front stereo, the back light would sometimes not come on because the contacts between the front and the body were a bit dirty/corroded. A quick clean/rub of the contacts would usually sort it out for a week or two.

Most likely though is that it's just broken. May be time for a new stereo.
