If one of your batteries is worse than the other you're best off taking that out, you may find that the one 'good' battery is enough to start your truck. Many trucks come from the factory with only one battery so may be enough.
If you're gonna get a new battery you would be better off replacing both at the same time because the weaker battery will drag down the the newer one. You could either get one strong battery, e.g. optima, at least 700cca (cold cranking amps) this will be enough to start your truck by itself and leaves the other battery space free to add a leisure battery and a split charging system like this http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/dualbattery.htm
The other option is to get two smaller cca and hence cheaper batteries and keep your existing setup. I got two new 700cca batteries from ebay - the battery man http://stores.ebay.co.uk/THE-BATTERY-MANs-SHOP been really pleased with them so far, quick delivery, friendly service and advice. I got two of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12V-CAR-BATTER...QQcmdZViewItem
they're 700cca and 80 amp/hr I am using them in the original dual battery setup at the moment for the cold starts but plan to install a split charge system in the spring ready for summer camping These batteries are nice as they have two sets of terminals on the top allowing them to be fitted either way round (the batteries are 'handed' in the surf) and also easy to take off supplies for accessories
Lifes a beach, so lets surf!
