  • Toyota Clean-Ace fan problem...

Hey guys, I'm new on here!
Just got a question to do with my Clean-Ace air cleaner on my Hilux.
Basically, none of the lights were working on the system, so i removed it to find that the earthing wire wasn't connected-so i replaced the earth to where it was supposed to go.

On re-fitting the system, i've also found that the fan system to clean the air isn't working. I used a battery strait to the fan wires, diverting the circuit, and the fan works, but it doesn't work when all connected up. None of the solders, capacitors and fuse' are broken, so i can assume that the circuit is broken or loose, somewhere inside the system?
If anyone has one of these systems, or knows anything about why it isn't working, i'd greatly appreciate the input.

    Thanks guys,
    Joe.

I'm pretty sure they are a JDM optional upgrade from the factory, around £300 new. I've had 3 japanese imports in the past, so i'd always heard about them- but never owned one til now. None of the switches work on it, but i've managed to get the lights working. The switches that work on it are only the lights, and the fan seems to be not working...

thanks for the input and the help!

            Joe.

They were a factory option on Surfs destined for the middle east.

I hope by god you're still here mate...

I'm about to buy one of these wonderous contraptions from a guy in JDM land...
I've wanted one every since I saw it in an ad copy pic from toyota saudi arabia

but, this one reportedly has an "attitude" the manual switch does not always turn it on.
also need to know how it is wired up. Is it a direct bolt in replacement for the stock dome light?

Can you get the filters from UK dealers? here in Can. they've never even heard of these things.

                          Thanks much
                          Cheers
