I think I'll epoxy resin it overnight and drill it out for fixings in the morning.
Make sure that you do self tap it together as the glue method will fail again as happened to the person who wrote the article Mattf posted. Then he re-did it with self tappers and it was job done.
Then, while the motor is out, take the three mounting bolts and hacksaw a small slot in the threaded end. When you come to refit it, you can fit small screwdriver down the bolt hole and screw the bolts back home just leaving a final nip up for the spanner. Speeds up any future removal as well.
