  • under bonnet lights

I had an idea the other day to have some lights under the bonnet that come on when you lift it up so you dont need a torch at night!.. anyone else done it? what would I need, I guess not much...
    some wire/relay etc.
switch type thing that comes on when you lift bonnet (like for my alarm?)
    some lights that wont melt

    any suggestions on this one...

I would think some IP65 12 volt led's would be good, as they'd need to be waterproof, and led's will draw very little lower and give good light, probably won't need a relay, just wire them from the courtesy light circuit.

Costco have a product specifically designed for this. It's a fluorescent tube that you attach to the bonnet when it's open.

Youre a man of surprises. Just when it all starts to look predictable we get this.

I opened the thread, saw the date of the first post and expected the last post (which was yours ) to go something like this,

" Got those lights fitted yet then "
