I know this has been mentioned before but can't remember the answer I'm sure if you do a search you will find out all you need to know

Found this a couple of posts below. Don't know who wrote it!!!

Ask for a replacement aerial for a 4Runner at your local Toyota dealer. When you get the replacement it will have a long plastic strip hanging out of the bottom with gear teeth on it.
Undo the hex at the bottom of your broken aerial and get someone to switch the radio on. The whole lot will wind out with a little help from you. Insert the new aerial into the hole, the same way round the old one came out. Get someone to switch the radio off and the replacement will feed in. Do up the retaining nut and thats it.
