  • Unplugged the Air Temp Sensor

1990 2LT-E. I have unplugged the Air Temp Sensor as the Surf was smoking a wee bit. Does not smoke now, but should I get a new sensor, or just run without it? Thanks.

Hi Murray, What colour is the smoke? I just read your post about possible oil in the water, and I am wondering if the 2 could be connected?

It was just normal 'boot-into-it' Deisel smoke.

Even though mine is a 2LT not the E model I am sure all is pretty similar
Which one is the air-temp sensor that you disconnected?
I would be keen to give it a go myself
Pictures please or a good desrciption.
Mine does the "manouvering under smoke" thing like a Challenger tank on take off but runs fairly clean during normal driving.
I am keen as mustard to try ANYTHING to reduce this black cloud effect.
