just wondering if anybody would know why i have a little red pushbutton on the panel near the accelerator pedal????????? have not chased up wiring as yet

Is it a two-stage button (i.e. push once for on and again for off), or is it just a simple push-button, also do you have an alarm/immobiliser installed?

Often alarms have a simple push-button which allows you to configure the alarm settings, a certain combination of button-presses and light-flashes/beeps to enter your PIN number and set options. Possibly just installed there as it's probably near to the main alarm control box.
