Glow Plug Lights

How long should the glow plug light be lit for ?

Got in the new surf first thing this morning turned ignition and glow plug light went out after about a second. The engine started fine without any smoke and drove well. It was about -2 degrees so 1 second seems a bit short to me. I'm sure it was on for longer yesterday when i started it in the morning. My Citreon takes much longer.

mine only stays on for a second.
i always just wait till i think it's cooked, then go.

you'll hear a click when the relay disengages.

but if it starts anyway, then there's no worries!
