Hello Everybody!
From a junked 2L-T powered Surf I took the tachometer faceplate and accompanying circuit board and installed both into my 1995 3.0L-powered rig. I wasn't expecting this upgrade (to be able to watch the pretty green turbo light illuminate when I dropped my right foot) to come off without a hitch and evidently I was correct. I turbo light is on ALL OF THE TIME the ignition key is in the 'on' position.
My Surf, with 135K km on the clock, is in excellent condition. I can hear the turbo wind up when I hit the go pedal and, as far as I know, all underhood wires, hoses, etc. are good to go.
I am clueless as to how to get the turbo light to come on only when it should; ie when the motor is being asked to put out additional power for accelerating, hill climbing, etc. Any information will be appreciated.
