  • does my motor have a fuel warning light?

    as above^^^^^^^

on a 1991 hilux surf 2.4td. just wondering as i had the diesel very low and no light came on! how would i test it if it does have one to see if it works? (without getting stranded)

    mine's an '89 and it's got one.
I would keep a can in the back and run it dry, just so you know.
I do it with all my vehicles as soon as poss.

    Still working for the man!

Fill your tank till its full....drive 425km look to the left of your L on the fuel gauge and you will see a little yellow light come on in the shape of a small box

re fuel after max 40km(with the light on) or do as I did wait drive on regardless and then have to wait 1hr for AA to bring you diesel...having run out with wife and kids in truck....

Or do as I do and fill the tank up each time you reach ½ or ¼ of a tank.

If you let it run dry you risk getting $$$$ in your injectors etc.

Oh, and I've never seen my warning light up.

And if you never let it go below 1/2 a tank you risk building up loads of $hit in the tank then running into problems when you least need them. Sorry, only my opinion.
