New Speaker / Audio system.

Hi.

I want to have a decent set of speakers fitted but I don't know where they will fit or how much they will cost to fit etc...

I listen to lots of music and want to get something decent sounding in there (I have already bought my CD / Mp3 player) but I beleive there isn't much room in the door space for extra speakers and it may need some carving up.

Does anyone else have a decent music system in there that could offer me some advice / suggestions?

Just note the Hilux is not "the most accoustically shaped vehicle" as one ICE shop told me.

Give it a shot and let us know how you get on with putting in the bits and bobs. I replaced the front speakers on mine and I got the treb amd mid-tones and then the rear speakers cracked before I could replace them and suddenly I had bass. WIERD so I never replaced the rear speakers. I was told that replacing them is not the problem, it was getting the bass. Not possible without fitting a box or tube.

My 3rd gen is good as Toyota moved all the Speakers around later on.
JVC Headunit + 4 x 50w.

LOL, yeah Mark. I am in Liverpool and have a 2.4 K Reg SSR-X.

What do you suggest?

p.s. Do these things have rear speakers or just the two in the dash board?

2 in the rear luggage area next to the storage compartments.
I changed the fronts to Dual cone ones as the material was wrecked the back ones were ok

Wow, cool. So you mean to say that I have two in the rear storage area too? Are you sure?

I will have a good look later.

I was thinking about getting a bass tube put in (although I have a 250 watt 15 inch speaker from a bass guitar amplifier).

Would it be possible to fit that or not?

What would I have to do?

Im about to fit in some speakers myself ,
Originally my plan was to mount 6" components in the front doors, and then 5.25" components in the rear doors...but once i had the door cards off its very limited on space and the rear doors have none thats useable!
You will need to look at making something to hold the speaker away from the door.
While im fitting speakers into the doors ive deceided to retrim the cards in black suede because thats just what i found and it was cheap and should make it all look a bit better then just bodged in there
