Side panels for access to cubby hole

Guys I am gonna fit my cd multichanger in the side cubby hole... are the side panels easy to take off? Anything I should be aware of?

They're a pain in the to do.

To get it right off I seem to remember you need to undo/loosen various bits of overlapping trim.
It's then a matter of pulling gently as it's held by a lot of small hidden clips. These are very prone to breaking...so take your time (Apparently the cold makes them brittle , so warm the car & even use a hairdryer to warm the panel)
If you bust too many it's going to rattle when you refit it.

It is possible to run the wires along the bottom of the panel and tuck them under it then run them up into the cubby holes. Unless of course you need to remove them to fit the unit.

Yeah , that works for the doors etc. but the big panels in the back have a different system. Its a sort of metal clip that fastens round a plastic peg moulded on the back of the panel. They're actually part of the back of the panel.
It's always the plastic that snaps ,I,ve tried re-attaching them with limited success

Cheers for that, looks like I'm gonna have to cut the cubby hole to fit the multichanger anyways and I think i can fit it without taking the panel off now..... so will see how it goes....

Managed to fit my 10 disc changer, without removing the panel.

I had the drivers side rear panel off two weeks ago. It was about -1deg and I broke a couple of clips. Back in the summer on the day we were going for record temperature (I kid you not) I had it off (oooer!) and broke none.
Have a look at towbar fitting on the main site. The panel removal sequence is there.

Hi

Will the changer fit in the little cubby hole under the rear passenger seat where the jack usually lives?

Might be a little easier to access for maintenance etc?
