Heated rear screen

Hi All,
The rear screen heater on my Surf has never worked, so I tried all the usual suspects; the element shows continuity on testing, but there is no power at the connectors inside the tail gate. The connecting wires are intact and connected and the dash light comes on. Is there a relay or fuse hidden somewhere - any ideas?

Try spiking the wire back from the connectors, the wire normally goes brittle and breaks inside the sheath about 6" back from the spade terminals.

Thanks, tried that as far back as I could trace it, earth side is OK, but nowt on live side.
