  • Rear light replacement

I am waiting for my first Surf, being shipped to me from Japan (a July 1999 SSR-G TD). Is there a (legal) replacement rear light that would include reversing and fog lamps, as well as the usual? Would this particular model have reversing lights anyway? Any information gratefully received ...

I'm not 100%, but i reckon it'll have reverse lights. Doubt it'll have a fog light though.

That sounds about right - that's why you see so many with pendulem fog lamps where the importers shove a cheapie lamp on.

        Rear fog lamps

Thanks for the information - as you probably surmised, I was trying to avoid the under-bumper "pendants". I suppose the only answer is to fit ones in the bumper itself (which is probably cheaper anyway), if I can find some smartish-looking ones.

They will have to fit one for the SVA test, so you will have the wiring already, also after the SVA you could convert one of the reversing lights or get some Honda bumper fog lights from a s c r a p yard, they will be flush fitting into the bumper.

Some have just used the £5 rectangular types you can get from
Motor Factors for bumper mounting. Hole in bumper, lens in front,
case behind then screwed through to clamp onto bumper.
