Rear window earth?

Anyone know where the earth for the rear window motor is?

I gonna be working on the surf tomorrow so may aswell ask now as that's one of the things i wanna check while i try and establish what work needs doing to the surf and how much of it i can do myself.

I dont know exactly but when you locate the motor look for a white wire with a black stripe. All wires that are white with black stripe are grounding (earth) wires. It is possible that the wire is not grounded in the tailgate itself, it may be grounded through the harness to the chasis somewhere. Put a test light on the ground wire and hook the other side of the test light to a 12volt source, if it lights up your ground (earth) is probably good. Move the window up and down while using the test light and make sure it keeps lit. This can be done with a volt meter for better accuracy of your results.
