Am going to buy a handfull of relays, and renew all four,

(not knowing) which one or more may be defective.

Now, worse case scenario.

If window lift is still an issue,
or if I bugger the board in the repair,

where might I find a replacement second-hand,
I understand the new part is hundreds from dealership.

The repair is a pice of cake. Look for the thread I did in November, I even show the board in its repaired state with the maplins relay installed. As long as you have a decent iron and a desoldering pump its not a problem. Mine has been almost 2 months installed now and its been faultless from the word go.

I am thinking of starting a board refurbishing service to forum members as this is such a common problem and people are reluctant to get stuck in. Anyone have any comments on this?

sound like a good idea.as you say,very common problem and many people wouldnt know where to start.

Glad to hear the repair can be carried out easilly,
had a quick look at you posts, but do'nt see the relevant one, sorry.

Would you mind either putting a link to it on here next,
or just telling me how to get at board initially, as in removing side panel in the back.

I did come across someones sketch of the board and relays mountings,
would this be likely assistance?

Havent had the problem yet but remember the posts. If you can offer the service for a reasonable price i would imagine peeps would take you up on it........

Getting the plastic pannel out of the car is a nasty job. I deffo explained this to someone a couple of days ago, sure it was yourself. Its a case of removing all screws /clips and being as careful as you can. Then its a simple matter to get at the board after removing the cubby box.
