My heater fan will only work on the fastest setting? i had this problem before on my nissan and replaced a circuit board, do the surfs have the same? if so where is it?
In mine and most toymotas there is a resistor pack mounted up above the passengers left foot.
You may need to pull back the carpet to find it.
I have not got my wagon here at the mo so pics are a no go.
It is a black plastic baced jobby about as big as a box of matches with a plug in the back and 4-5 wires coming out of it.
I took mine out and bridged it so that have 5 variations of the same speed.
i.e fast on all settings.
Here is a pic of resistor location (bottom of pic) on a '92 Surf. Motor has been removed. There are two sizes. The earlier models have a resistor with exposed wires and as a result corrode and break down. The later models have a resistor where wires are encased in a ceramic block. These are larger and I don't think they will fit the earlier models.
