  • Mystery black box?

    Hi fellas
The missus has just bought a 3rd gen SSRG and I thought I'd go for a spin in it today, on getting out I noticed a black box under the drivers seat which is held down by a velcro strap and plugged into the electrics - anybody know what it is for? just wondering

    Cheers chaps

two thoughts.......something to do with immobiliser or more than likely if it has what seems to be several buttons and /or two digit face - could be turbo timer to keep the engine running for a little while after leaving the vehicle [allows the rubo to wind down - sudden hot/cold could end up to the turbo failing]

        It's the central locking box.

If there is a makers name on there with a serial number, then type it into google see what comes up.

The reason I sugested google is I've needed info on electronics / security stuff in the past and 99% of the time I've found what I was after.

just had a look at the black box but there is no name or anything on it.

i think i might just make a few enquiries and see what i can come up with and will let you know
