I have installed a tow bar on my 1996 SSRX. Just wondering how to connect the socket. Is there a loom/connector somewhere or do i have to take it from the wires at the back light.
Thanks

Unless it's different to the 2nd gen then you will have to connect in to the loom at the rear, both sides unfortunately.
most of it can be done one side then a few wires for the other.
no loom connector Im aware of. depending on where you bought from it might even tell you the wire colours in a Surf.

As the others have said, no loom conector.
Some other bits you may fine usefull when doing the wiring.....
If you look as the crossmember above the towbar you should see a hole in the centre, this can be used to route the wiring into the interior without drilling any holes.
Remove the plastic trim at the boot floor rear and lift the carpet a bit. There are square black blanking plugs on either side which lead into the same crossmember mentioned above. These can be cut to allow the wiring into the rear quarter panel to enable patching into the existing loom.
You will also need to partly remove the sidewall panels.
Fold the rear seats. If you have the cargo roller cover fitted, remove the forward mounting brackets. Remove the rear roof light lens, followed by its securing screws. The panel which supported the light may now be removed. This reveals one screw securing the top of each side panel to the roof. Remove these screws and the sidewalls can now begin to be pulled clear of the body starting from the rear. No need to remove them completly, just prise out far enough to access the wiring. Note once you have the rear edge unclipped and moved out a few inches look behind it, you'll see a hook from the panel catching the body below the side window, reach in and disengage it before pulling any further on the panel.
