Dodgy Bulb

Hello all knowlegabe ones.

I`ve got a loose wire somewhere on my gear selecter.When its dark and i turn the lights on sometimes the light does`nt come on i`have to count the clicks to find the right gear.(give it a bang and on come the lights)
I`ve taken the covers off and it seams a sealed unit with just three wires going in it.I`ve checked these connections, but what else can i do??

If you press the gearstick button, only to release it out of park, the gearstick can be pulled back and it won't go any further than 'Drive' unless you press the button again.
You should have a bleeper for reverse anyway.
I use this method all the time and hardly ever look at the gearstick.

I was hopeing for a fix soloution really since i`m not the only one who drives the surf!
