Turbo timer

My Surf has a turbo timer which keeps the engine running even with the keys removed, which I'm told in a no-no as far as the law is concerned.
Is it hard to remove or is it worth keeping. I dont use it at the moment cos I dont like the idea of leaving my Surf with the engine going. From what I can see under the bonnet it looks like it might be quite a job.

you should find that somewhere near the box is a plug that connects into the loom it only bypasses the ignition circuit at the colum normally so follow the wires back from the box

my pulsar had one but not connected when traced wires plugged them together and it worked
