    Help!!
I have a 3.0ltr TD 1995 when I turn the engine off by the key it carries on running and I have to disconnect the stop wire on the pump to stop it. I have been told it is has a turbo overheating switch this has a small coil to let the turbo cool down before turning off. I can understand it if the engine has been running for a long time but this happens when cold or hot has anyone had any probs like this
    Cheers

I don't have a Turbo Timer and also don't think they are necessary. As far as I know they are a timer and this is how they work.It has nothing to do with engine or turbo temperature therefore will operate to the set time regardless of this.

m8 no harm but a turbo timer is a good thing as it cools turbo down after jorneys long or short as turning the vehicle of striagt away is not good for any turbo petrol or diesel

If it does when its cold I can't see it being a turbo timer (unless its duff, or set up wrong). Could be the fuel cut off on the back of the diesel pump, if its shot the motor will keep on running or could be the supply to it or the wire has broken. From memory it is live when ignition is off and supply cut when ignition is on. So in theory if the wire has broken then its not shutting down when you switch the ignition off.
