  • crossover help!

Hi, just newbie. does anybody know if it is possible to connect a crossover between amps and speaker connection? my amps already have a built in crossover but im just wondering if another crossover can improve more the sound of my speakers.

No will make sound worse.... only use another crossover if the output from the amp is full range. Most tweeters of course have the correct level cutout built in. Only use one set of filtering in a sound system never 2 ok...

      Hmmm,

maybe, maybe not. Giving a speaker information it cannot playback could cause that speaker to distort. In a real bad cases, the amplifier would be amplifying information (and wasting current doing so) that the loudspeaker couldn't reproduce.

So if you must, you can, as long as the components do not place a restriction on that feed from the amplifier.

I always filtered information going to a driver one octave inside its reproductive range. Brand of drivers became irrelevant, as they always sounded crisp.
