OK, I've made a silly error, but can anyone tell me where the left hand positive battery lead goes to?

And Yes I'm aware one end goes to the battery!

Just in the process of put it all back together after head and timing belt change when I noticed both ends of the cable disconected! Don't remember taking the second terminal off - hence I can't figure out where it goes. All normal leads still attached to the Alternator

Only thing I can think of is that it attaches to either the Alternator or A/C compressor, but that would mean a dirrect path to earth and a shorted out battery.

    Advice greatfully recieved!

Have just been out to look at mine, assume you're talking about the nearside battery, I can't see where the positive cable goes (it disappears downwards and can't see where it goes), but if you go to the sticky at the start of electrical-the one that says various electrical diagrams, click on the link to surf pictures, you'll find that the diagram "Battery, starter motor etc" shows that it goes to the starter motor. It seems to be the case with all cars I've worked on. If it's the offside battery you mean (I don't expect it will be), one red cable goes to the engine bay fuse bay, the other crosses over to the other battery.

      Doh!

Stupid me, now I remember! It is the link between the two batteries. How stupid do I feel now.

      Thanks for the prompt Filgreen.
