Anyone know what a code 33 is?? Its in a UK Lancruiser 3L TD, and when i check for codes i get 33 which isnt listed in any lists ive found. Last time it happened it came up with 13, 33 and 42 but having cleared those and sent it in to toyota they couldnt find the intermittent fault and it ran fine for about 2 years, but has returned, and resetting the ECU doesnt help. Its a random cut-out. Complete engine stop, and wont restart for about 15 mins on occasion, although sometimes will restart on the spot. Since my mother drives this car regularly id rather it wasnt losing its brakes and steering assist randomly when she drives it!
There doesnt appear to be any real theme to the failing, sometimes its just idling, sometimes its blasting down the motorway. I checked a stack of other Toyota code lists and found a code 33 on the petrol ECU, the idle speed control valve, wonder if if this is linked??
