Rear window, it just stopped working!

Hi,

Earlier today the rear window on my K reg Surf went down no problem, then all of a sudden, I tried again and it wouldn't budge, not from the button in the cab, not from turning the key in the lock.

It just stopped working!

I've looked through the archives and all the past posts seem to mention hearing a noise indicating that the motor is still going and it's just a cog problem, but I can't hear any noise at all! It's bizzare because 30 mins earlier the window worked fine, no indication of any problems at all.

Could it be a fuse thats gone somewhere? OR has the motor just packed up?

First check you haven't accidentally pressed the lock button on the drivers side armrest, also the rear wiper is properly in the "park" position.

Mate, you are a life saver!

It looks like the window lock was on! Either that or it just sorted itself out, because its working now!

Chalk this one up to me being an idiot (hangs head in shame).

Yes, ditto to what John just said. I had the same prob. this morning, I went to lower the rear window from the drivers seat and nothin happend
took me a few seconds to notice that I still had the rear wiper on intermitent. switche it off and window worked
