yet another rear window problem

my rear window won't close completely.it powers up and down fine but when its allmost closed it stops about 5-10mm short.i've greased the runners in the tailgate and on the bottom of the glass plus i've lubed the edge of the glass and the rubber but it doesn't seem to have helped.when the window stops i can hear the motor running but it won't go any higher even with human help.

Sounds like the gears are worn, you should be able to push it up by hand though.

Mark the glass with a crayon at its max, then open the tailgate, push the latches shut with a screw driver, and then wind the window up, and see how far out it comes, it it comes out further, something is jamming it in the guides. If it still stops, the regulator gears could be worn. Make sure you support the window as it comes out, or something bad will happen to it!
