Two ways.
1st way -
Take off the front grill. This involves removing some plastic catches (which are prone to snapping) and then undoing a couple of bolts that holds the whole light fitting in.
2nd way -
Disconnect the batteries, remove them, take the bolts out for the expansion bottle and screenwash bottles. At one side there is a plastic cover to remove thats attached to the air intake. Then fish about at the back of the lamps, then should unscrew and pull out with little problem.
I was going to loosen the catches on the grill (way 1) but I snapped the first one, so didn`t tempt fate, instead doing it way 2. It took no longer than 30 min for both bulbs.
Incidently, I got some Xenon bulbs, and they are probably worst than the ones that were in. It seems the Surf wiring is poor so I`m not getting the best out of the better bulbs.
I`m going to rewire the whole lot with higher rated cables and attach my spots to the full beam as well.

Bulb removal
Do one lamp at a time so you don't remove both batteries at once.
I have read a thread hear that states it can do something to the engine management ( also removes radio presets ) if you remove both batteries.
you will have to remove the expansion bottle as well but still no big job. I have replace one duff bulb and later replaced both for brighter bulbs and the job only takes 20 mins start to finish.
ok

You don't even have to remove batteries at all just unbolt the securing brackets and that will give enough play to remove washer bottle and air box housing,i know cos i've done it and it saves mincing around with taking the batteries out and is much quicker.

Washer bottle side dead easy, undo battery securing clamp then lift washer bottle up and accross you should then be able to get your hand in and get the bulb out.
The passenger side is a little more involved - was on mine anyway unbolt the battery calmp and coolant bottle and lift the bottle out of the way move the battery - mine had a cover over the back of the lights which had to be unbolted in two places. no hardship took 20 - 30 mins to do both sides and I'd never done it before and is straighforward. Used the brighter bulbs that were on buy one get one free at halfrauds £12.99 for two - seem to be brighter anyway.
Or you could stich up halfrauds muppet with their we'll fit it for you malarky. Thats if you really can't be arsed to fit them tho

Yes this seriously is the way, just remove the washer & expansion bottle and theres enough room to get at the bulbs.Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.
