  • Great lpg upgrade. Thanks Diablo Turbo

So having chatted to andy (Diablo Turbo) a couple of times to discus a few lpg problems i have been having over the last few months. I finally handed the car over to him to see if he could trace the problems.

He tried his best to get the old kit working but the old injectors were a bit trashed.
So in the end we opted for a new kit.

Andy installed the kit and got it up and running and I am very very impressed, the installation looks very smart and neat and the performance is better than the old kit ever managed (i can actually redline the engine in just about any gear now!!!).

I will post some pictures when i have a chance of what the new injectors etc look like.

So all in all anyone round the south east who needs their lpg system being checked out or wants one installed on a v6 i would definately recormend andy.

if you are struggling on both petrol and lpg I would start with the basics, air filter, leads, distributer cap and spark plugs first. check them.

after that I would suggest checking your air flow meter before you start worrying about the lpg try to get it back working on petrol.

          V6 Petrol engine

Hi Guys, after many months of pondering and following the links from truck arms and many others ive decided do an engine swap instead of a rebuild. I had origionally planned to compleatly overhall my v6 with a kit i got in the states but instead ive gone for a 1jz 2.5 twin turbo from the soarer and will be fitting it later this week. What this means is i now have a complete engine, box and all ancillerys plus a complete rebuild kit including new shells, head gaskets, water pump, oil pump, belts, 1st over size pistons, all gaskets etc etc up for grabs to the best offer

So if any of you are having trouble with your v6s and need parts or advice please feel free to call me on 07731618466

          Regards Andy

              thats not good,
Maybe an air leak (check the vacume hoses) have you got a manual that shows all the hoses and where they should be going.
After that I dont know probably worth starting a new thread in the general section and asking if anyone near to you could help you.

I cant believe that the LPG is causing the problem, it might have caused the problem with a blow back or something but for now I would try to fix the petrol and then wory about the LPG.
Do you know anyone else with a petrol 4runner? If so it might be worth swapping a couple of bits like your MAF, I trashed one when I had a big bang on lpg and had to get another one.

              Good luck.

There is a metal lump just after the big round air filter, which has a black D shaped piece of glass on it.

this is what the inside looks like:

                  http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...ad.php?t=28552

MAF is something like mass air flow.

This sensors seems to control all sorts so it might be the problem.

I think if you have a haynes manual they tell you what to do to test it. what ever you do, do not undo the screws that look like they hold the connector in place. there is a funny wire that you can pull apart to get the air sensor off, that or try to diagnose the problem, use a knife to remove the silicon holding the D shaped glass on place and then take it out. I have my old one but it does not work properly hense I got a new one. diablo might be able to help as he must have a spare one lying around now.
