Got my truck MOT'd last week, needed some welding on the exhaust. only £40 to do. Made a journey at the weekend that usually costs about £50, only cost £30 (including higher pump prices). So it must have been a back pressure problem! (or something like that, im a sparky not a grase monkey!)

It sounds like you are on to something here with the modifications on your exhaust. Give us all some more details about what type of modification you did and what was your gas mileage before and after.

Sorry about my sheer lack of knowledge! the Guy said when I took it to the garage that he could hear the exhaust blowing, he fixed it for the MOT by doing a little welding, where I don’t know! It sounds the same to me!
Definitely a fuel use difference though, might ring the garage and find out what he did!Johnny

Mine has always been blowing... sounds whooshy if you floor it in 1st with the back window down
Might try and mod it for the time being with flexi...
The thing is all the seams are starting to go... wont be longTim

The engine feels more responsive and quieter, you cant even hear it on tick over. Its done 135000 miles too! I’m going to have to sell it though
I’m downsizing to a MX3 V6, it sounds great, uses less fuel and is cheaper on insurance! Will miss my truck though.......Johnny

Mine was from longlife exhausts in Carshalton, really impressed with the work, its looks great, sounds great and the price at 289 was not too bad either. I would recommend them to everyone if you want a stainless!!! No. is 01454 261102 if your interested.

the rear box on my 2.4 fell off just about two years ago and i have been bodging it back on ever since and last weekend the day befor i was due to go on holiday and the thing fell off again and so i went to bodge it back on again and it was beond repair so i stuck a new one from milners and ever since then it has started so much better . it used to be a bugger in the morning with a lot of cranking and a cloud of smoke but now it starts almost on the turn of the key.so much to do , so little money , so little time
