Ok so wondered is anyone knows the cause, although perhaps it's more obvious than I can see.
Lexurf III has been running great, passed another MOT earlier this year no problem, I went up to local garage other day (I normally buy my fuel at Tesco) as I was a bit low on petrol. Went in to pay and was surprised at the price, it was dirt cheap, why's that I said, they told me they were having the tanks dug up and replaced..Got in the truck drove about 1/2 a mile to my house ,was running fine, parked up, and went in home for the night.
Next day I went down to start the truck and it's running like a bag of spanners, missing , wont tick over and will only rev to 2 grand on the counter. Initialy i'm thinking is it the MAF , long time back had one go on me so when I replaced it as they were getting rare for the old LS400 (engines's a 94, Surf is a 90), I got 2 ,both had been tested, that was over 4 years back. Today I stuck the other MAF on and it's no different, so now I'm thinking is it crap or water in the petrol I pumped in the day before ? It does seem strange that it happened the next day with no one messing or using the truck .
I have tried the diagnostic thing but if anyone can actually count the blink's on the light that flashes on the dash and tell the difference between flashing then well done , I found it very hard.
Any ideas before it has to go to see a mechanics diag machine ? thanks.
