    New Thread? When? Where?
    I’ll do it then.
Would’ve done it sooner, but it wasn’t convenient.
    Good points:-
Engine cleaned & colour coded etc as per usual conversion. Parts supplied by me fitted ( water pump, belts, HT leads etc )
New front disks & pads fitted ( supplied by me )
Bodylift done free of charge ( £61.00 & days labour – not much to ask for out of a £3500 fee.
    ADD mod done.
Ask Vince for pictures of the above as he deleted them from build thread ( actually deleted whole build thread! )

See pictures of truck before going to Vince’s.

    Dropped off truck 18/May/2013
    Collected 7/March/2014

    Bad points:-
Gearbox, front diff, and other parts underneath that normally get painted in the conversion – not done on mine.
Asked Vince to paint the following black - chrome strip around front windscreen, door handles, chrome mirror backs, front grille and bumpers.
Also to fit bonnet vents & re-spray bonnet. ( Bonnet vents supplied by me )
    See pictures below.
    http://s743.photobucket.com/user/Per...rary/Paintwork
door handle and rear bumper – over spray on surrounding bodywork.
Re-fitting of top cross-member, between headlights, poor!
Both front wings are scratched and laquer coming off – Got a bodywork specialist to look at them and he said he’s seen that happen before when panels are covered up with polythene.
Mysterious spots on the front windscreen scuttle and wing tops, nearside & offside. Vince said it’s cutting compound that will wash off. It hasn’t and it looks like something has eaten into the paint-also clarified by the bodywork chap.
Asked him to remove white surf stickers – badly done and not finished – see pics.
Interior trim painted black – didn’t ask for this. ( over spray and splashed onto other bits )
Bonnet vents not fitted with flexible bonding, but with something that is now cracking and bonnet vents lifting out of bonnet – truck not done 500 miles including drive back from Vince’s.
Prep & spray of bonnet poor ( something to do with garage roof leaking – so why even attempt the job- wouldn’t have minded him saying can I leave the bonnet )– he has agreed to source good bonnet 8/March/2014 – still waiting for this.

Hard to believe these pics come from Vince's work

Doesn't add up when you consider the pics from past projects.

    Maybe someone else did it?

Conjecture, but maybe he's been busier than he'd have liked (doing 3 at time?)

I guess as he's had the truck since March, the matter has not been concluded to his satisfaction via those approaches.

Not that it's any of our business.

Sounds like this can only be settled by ITV's Judge Rinder!

Wow. That just doesn't look like any of his builds I've ever seen.

                    His work is normally immaculate.

                      re build

well the pictures do tell a story

vinces work from what i have seen is usually spot on with many happy customers.

well at least he has a chance to put his side of things on here should he choose too

I'm not doubting his previous work-this was the reason I took my truck to him for the conversion. But this is the conditon I got mine back in.

As far as I was aware, when I dropped mine off he was working on number 9 and that got put on the back burner. He told me that as he was behind he was only going to be working on mine to catch up.
Also this is no excuse for quality of work. So the more work you've got on, it's ok for the quality of workmanship to go down! It takes as long as it takes to get a job finished to a satisfactory standard. I was told it was ready for collection and clearly it wasn't.

I wasn't made aware of this at the time. Obviously he has my sympathy-wouldn't wish this on anyone. If I had known about this I would have been happy for him to take more time-I didn't put any time constraints on this build. I re-iterate again-I was told it was ready for collection.

                              More findings and issues!

Nice cutting away of metal for the re-location of the handbrake mechanism. See 1st pic below.

A sharp edge left behind the ecu - original loom runs right across this! see 2nd pic.

Had intermittent problem with the auxillary gauges - looked at the wiring and found this, not soldered - just twisted together - pic 3 & 4.

Got round to looking at the issue with why I couldn't get a fourth bolt to screw into the engine mount - holes don't line up. Spent 6 hours on this, drilling and re-tapping the start of the threaded hole in the block as it was gnarled up. Pic 5.
