    ALL THE GEAR!............no idea!

    • I take it your running a fan on the rad too ?
If not and that's the only fan to cool the v8 I think
you'll need to rethink this setup.
You may well be ok whilst on the move, good airflow through
the rad being the most efficient way to keep everything cool, but
the first time you sit in traffic it will boil up in seconds.
      Still on a mission.

      • Just read back a bit and see why you are mounting the fan there.
Have you tried reversing the posi and neg to get the fan to
run in the opposite direction, see what that does, or are the blades
        reversible ?

This is the fan Vince fits
        http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-RADIATO...item588df18e1f

Not expensive and works well, proven to be reliable too.
        Still on a mission.

        • Sorry hadn't got to that bit yet, I do have a 16" mounted in front of the rad sucking air in, I got the Volvo one thinking I could reverse the direction which I could but the blades are set up wrong to go in reverse as it just blows out the sides and not out the back, but it sucks very very well so I chucked it there.
I'll post a few pics tmrw if the rad in with the fan in place.

It's a good idea to rubber mount the cooler, vibrations could crack the welds and/or loosen fittings.

            • Cool will do buddy, am I right in saying that the surf alternator connector fits into the lexus alternator with all 3 wires in the same place? Then I just connect the white wire with the lug to the bolt connector on the side of the alternator?
Then all I have is the short earth which goes from a bolt on the back of the alternator to the block?
              Thanks

Depends on what shape your alternator plug is, if your Surf one fits the Lexus alternator, then you don't need to do anything else (apart from connecting the heavy gauge white battery wire to the 'B' post)

If the Surf plug is a different shape, then just snip it off and solder the wires to the Lexus plug in the same positions. (The colours might be different, but they still go in the same positions)

Re: Earth straps, the more the better with these engines. I fit two from the engine to the chassis and two from the engine to the body.

                  • Few more bits done this afternoon/tonight, fitted gauges above stereo, fixed towing plug bracket, bled the brakes, fitted bonnet vents.
I also fitted the gear selector bar, but when it is in park and the gearbox is in park the truck still rolls back an forth? Could this be due to lack of ATF?
                    Few pics of the dials

Nope, the transfercase is in neutral.
