This ones for the Lexsurfs,

Do you have the vacuum pipes plumbed in on the V8 PS pump? does it work well with the surf steering box? Like, if connected is it lighter when parking and heavy at speed? Or do you just not bother with the vacuum and have it heavy/light all the time?

The pipes do two things, they raise the idle speed (prevent the engine from stalling) when turning the wheel at standstill and dump any P/S fluid fumes into the inlet manifold. (which can create a smokey exhaust)
Most transplanters including myself just delete the pipes either by looping them together under the reservoir or blocking off the outlet with a bolt.

The power assist is constant not variable.
