  • Fair enough. Though having said that, what do you need to see directly in front of you for? When people hear that racket heading for them they ain't going to be hanging about in the road - all the fun will be watching the terrified fleeing faces out of the side windows...

    • So when's the big day? And have you got any plans for it when it gets home? (Mods wise I mean, not just shaking the neighbours out of their chairs...)

        • Vince my HT leads were all very long and numbers were all wrong for the lengths I did a bit of swapping around and finally managed to get the covers back on!

Sounds awesome by the way Graham looking forward to getting some off roading action once it's sorted and on the road.

          Mine is still running well!!

                  • Got all the plug wires in and covers on.
Tidied up all under bonnet wiring.
Adjusted top radiator hose so it's not rubbing on pulley!
                    Got fan working properly.
                    Lubricated throttle and kickdown cables.

                    To do tomorrow...

                    Fit bumper.
                    Fit foglight. (Wiring already there)
                    Seal exhaust at flexy joints.
Tidy ECU wiring and fit dash back together.
                    Wash/polish truck.
                    Go for MOT.

Had it idling for about 30 mins this evening, temp didn't go above 84 degrees (Fan disabled for test) Seems the 3.0 rad's extra capacity helps.

                    Good sound from the stereo!

Only one bad point, Power steering pump is noisy. Could just be an air lock though.

                    • im not sure how true it is vince, but apparentley, the best way to force air from a power steering pump is to do a burn out

Really?? Best get the MOT first.

It's not noisy when it's not doing anything, only when steering. Mine did the same, so did Ross'. Both are quiet now.

Changes up and down through the gears OK too. (Still on the axle stands)

                            • OOOH!!!

                              I LIKE!

I thought the "smallish" lexus v8 would be some labouring engine, not really the full monty - (I had a LS1 V8 5.7 in my monaro untill recently and that was the dogs. In fact it was the whole of Battersey Dogs homes testicular collection...) but ooooooohhhh nice. really free reving V8 there. What's the power output? RWHP or FWHP/Torque Figures? Just need some overun popping and banging going on there and you've got yourself the perfect V8 monster....

Exhaust sound is all down to design on a 'V' engine. H or X pipe, chambered or straight through silencers, seperate pipes etc.

Mine is two into one 2.5" with two straight through silencers and a 3" outlet.
Lexurf II has a stainless system fitted with twin outlets.
Lexurf III has two seperate 2.25" pipes with a NASCAR type silencer on each outlet with 3" tailpipes.
Lexurf IV has two 2" pipes, linked with a 'H' pipe and two chambered silencers at the back.

So far, Lexurf III is the loudest, but impressive.
