Over fuelling!!! Losing the will to live

The fault I have is starts as if it's running on 3 cylinders a bit of smoke then runs ok when warmed up but sinks of fuel.

I've fitted a new head and removed the egr valve completely all was good then this fault raised its head so I tested glow plugs all good but fitted new ones anyway still there! So thought it might be injectors so fitted new ones for peace of mind fault still there!

I'm a bit lost now was thinking spill valve / pump but it drives fine apart from over fuelling

Anyone got any ideas cos I've spent ££££s and now trying to find reasons on to sell it

you got a diesel leak
who said it was overfueling
if it was it would smoke all the time

if it`s on tick over warmed up there is a very slight misty smoke but sinks of fuel. I cannot see any leaks anywhere.There is a garage at the end of my road that said its over fueling!! can you adjust the pump?
It`s not mis firing or hunting it just starts really bad knocking and some smoke from cold.

i would say that yer heater plugs are naff or not working
or one off yer injectors is is dropping diesel in overnight
both of thease would cause the knocking on start up and the
smoke as for the misty smoke a dribbleing injector will cause
that. you not said what its like when driveing or say at 2500 revs
and are you sure yer head or gaskets not gone

Oops Forgot to say. When driving its fine no issues when warm.How do i check if fuel is returning? that would make sense.

its not the head i replaced the head last year with an AMC one from RT.

when you say there is a misty smoke
is that when you drive along and see it in the
mirrors more so at night than the day
if that is the case then what you are seeing
is vapour off the fuel and thats normal
as for the smell of diesel i still lean
towards a leak

Ill double check for leaks is there any common places to check? it smokes on start up and when warm on tick over it smokes very slightly but stinks of diesel
