  • KZN 130 auto box problems.

Took off auto sump and cleaned filter/strainer and drained off about 6 litres of old transmission fluid (because I reckoned it was about time as the last time was approx 70,000 miles ago and it has now covered 130,000 miles). Initially the box seemed to be quicker changing up but now it is slower changing up than it ever was. The filter/mesh was dirty but nothing big or worrying in it. Any ideas?

i would just drain it again and refill. Just do it from the drain plug this time and see if it makes a difference.

      KZN130 Auto box problem.

ATF was only changed because it was overdue---I had no existing problem.Since changing approx half the total amount (which is all you will get out of the system without doing a "Rodney flush") and a sump strainer/filter clean---I now have a problem. Initially after having carried out the work,it was quicker changing up than I can ever remember in the 10 years that I have owned this vehicle----Now I have to rev to 2,500-3000rpm(50-60mph) on the flat to get top gear.
