  • Viscous Fan Removal

I've read all the posts on replacing the silicon oil in the viscous fan.
The only question i have is how do I remove the viscous coupling on a 3rd Gen.

The truck had started getting warm when i was pushing the engine 75+mph up hills etc. I've whipped out the radiator and will be replacing it.
When I'm waiting for the rad to arrive I was planning on upgrading the oil in the fan but appear to be stuck at how to remove it

    Cheers

    Hi,
Remove the black plastic radiator shroud. It comes off in 2 bits and there are around 4 bolts holding it on.
The fan unit comes off with 4 12mm nuts. Once it is out of the car, you can do the silicone oil replacement.

      Hi,
You might want to buy an Impact Driver, as the screws are a sod to remove otherwise.
