So I've been trying to find out what the correct method of adjusting the kickdown cable is, because mine seems a bit keen to drop gears, but also seems to "slip" a lot - torque converter doesn't seem to lock up until ~2krpm, all my shifts are smooth except I've got a bit of a thud going into top.
Ive read a dozen forum posts that suggest the little rubber marker should protrude 0-1mm from the rubber end part WHEN AT FULL THROTTLE. There's not enough adjustment in my cable to do that - at full throttle there's about 3x the slack that the adjustment could take up. At zero throttle it's currently at the 0-1mm mark.
What's the actual toyota recommended method?
