Wondering if anybody has had this issue and hopefully fixed it!?
KZN130 auto starts fine from
cold but has intermittent problem when warm with starting.
Basically sometimes when I go to restart it the starter doesnt turn almost as if its in gear, then usually after a few attempts it fires up fine.
Ive replaced starter motor contacts and the batteries are less than a year old
Ive checked the battery connections and replaced a cracked connector to battery but still getting the problem.
Im thinking its a bad connection somewhere but also considering possibly the starter relay or the park gear position switch/sensor. What is a bit odd about it is the fact it only seems to happen when engines warm (not even hot!) like its temperature related.
So firstly has anybody had this problem???!
also can somebody tell me where the starter relay is situated and how best to examine the switch or sensor that stops starter from turning when truck is not in park or neutral?
Ive searched thro loads of previous posts but havent found anything similar
