  • Exhaust tail pipe

Ok, I have read as many of the exhaust posts as I could be arris'd and haven't found the answer, so.............

Has anyone actually bought a tailpipe for a 2nd Gen 3.0 in crappy steel. If so where from and does it exit from behind the mudguard or the arris end????

    Help much appreciated.

    Rich.

Edit: I have requested the info from Milners and Roughtrax but does anyone have personal experience?????

I had the exhaust from a 4Runner put on my 90 2nd gen, had the resonator box cut off and a bit of pipe welded on and exited behind the wheel.

Standard Surf exhaust (2.4 and 3.0) always exits at the rear. If you want it to exit behind the wheelarch you need to modify it.

This is where I am confused because mine has always exited from behind the wheelarch and it looks like a Toyota one ?????

Nigel is right. That picture is what I would define as exiting to the rear - i.e. in harms way.

            Cheers

              Thanks for clearing that up.

It wasn't in harms way for long. I hacksawed the end of flush to the bumper

Only problem with that is that legally it should clear the bodywork.

                Cheers

most new cars don't have them protruding, look at mondeos, they point down from behind the bumper and are only just visible

therefore, lucky is a big fat liar! hehehe! "Only problem with that is that legally it should clear the bodywork."
