That looks like a very easy way to do it and I like that

I'm also altering my intake to an Apexi cone filter and will locate that by the right hand battery which I have deleted.

I bought a small intercooler off ebay, 1x 2.5" 135* silicon hose, 1x 2.5 to 2 " 45* bend and I already had a bit of hose to the throttle body end. I just cut up the original cross over pipe and fitted that where ever I needed pipe

I had cut in a nissan patrol scoop also
good example of a poor setup.
the ic is to small, in a very hot location and little airflow.

you need to have the gain in air density (cool it enough) outweigh the pressure drop. otherwise its practically worthless.
avoiding heatsoak when going slow is a big issue for top mounts. other wise they become interheaters rather than intercoolers.
fan and ducting to the bonnet help a lot.

well, its sealed around the intercooler and scoop. Any air going into the scoop has to go thru the intercooler.

touch test says it works also. I think it has the slight more advantage as its standing up into the scoop where more people lay it down

it may not work as well as a big intercooler would being a small cooler

My bonnet so so full inside, I cant fit a provent 100. I bigger cooler wouldnt fit to be honest

that will help a lot. sorry that wasn't in the pics.
even then ic is on the small side.
i have the longer version of that and i think it could do with being another row taller.

do you know the pressure drop across it?
how far along it is the hot part?

its a shame the intercooler couldn't me mounted up front, but i guess the pressure drop would be too great

its got my mind thinking certainly!

it can be done. a few different ways to do it and depends on the aircon.

different engine of course and pic is before the mounts where fitted.
no real increase in lag. pipe length not a big issue.

I'll have to look at pipe routing for front mount when I'm back in the workshop as my aircon has gone so ive got plenty of room.

I'm sure now that i've found room for an intercooler/piping on a mk1 MX5 that I can find room at the front of my KZN130..

One thing that has always put me off is the 're-map' issue.
                      Can these ECU's be remapped?
If not anyone know the solution or who to go to for tuning etc?

I nearly got my surf re mapped but couldn't afford it at the time. The guy said he may be able to do it but wasn't sure.

I know that doesn't answer your qu but that was my experience

do any of you knows about the sensor on the intercooler of a prado, is it a temperature sensor? if yes where do you connect it on a kzn130?
                          thanks.
