  • Coolant confusion? I've had my OATS

Ok I have about 6 litres of Halfords red "organic acid technology" long life coolant. (Got it very cheap)
I've read loads on the internet about what to use & what not to use but I am getting confused the more I read!
So as far as I see if I drain the system and flush it clear it should be ok to use the halfords stuff?
It'll probably only be in for a while as I think the head needs doing at some point anyway. It uses a bit of coolant
I'll top up with distilled water.
The reason for doing this is I don't want to spend £40+ on toyota coolant and have to get more to top up with, if I use the halfords stuff I can get that easily.
    Does this sound sensible?
    Thanks for any replies....

You should be fine mate .. Just drain the full system out and put the halfords stuff in and when the head is done you can use original Toyota stuff if you want !

Cheers I dont want to use the good stuff then throw it away soon after,
Saying that the engine's been using coolant for 18 months now without accually going pop!
