KZN185 Belt & Gearbox Seal

I know that these are dozy questions, but they have to be asked.

The first is what belt am I missing in the pictures; I'm assuming that it's the fan belt (I keep having to recharge the battery), but I want to be absolutely definite before I order it.





The second is I have a transmission oil leak from the front seal on the gearbox. I don't really want to drop the gearbox to replace the seal, but I have been told by a former Land Cruiser owner that it might be possible to replace the seal by just dropping the driveshaft. Has anyone on here ever done this and, if they have, by any chance do they have a how-to guide?

The belt thats missing in the photo is the air-con belt.

If the alternator belts are still there and are tensioned correctly, then either the alternator isn't charging the battery or the battery itself has gone bad.

Batteries start to go 'off' after five years.

The battery is only 12 months old, but I'll check it out; could simply be a dud.
