NEED HELP ! 3000 revs it temp goes to RED

Hi does anybody know why my surf kzn130 1994 new cambelt, water pump new radiator, had it 3 years, i went on motorway again today hit 80mph again 3000 revs, temp gauge went up to red, so i went down to 70 mph, temp stayed fine for 2 hours! on way back tried 75-80 mph overheats again, ive been doing this run for ages same speed,up and down hills,never let me down,until now,does this mean this the head gasket starting to go? any help would be appreciated guys.

Are you sure you got all the air out - have you checked the water level during or after this run?

Has the temp gauge been nodded, mine was and increasing speeds did move the gauge up the scale.

What make of pump did you install?
